Job Overview: The Estate Specialist will be responsible for quickly appraising items, negotiating prices, and purchasing collectible items directly from clientele. Items are then assessed, cleaned, and listed for resale at auction. A successful Estate Specialist will develop an understanding of the items we purchase along with the industry knowledge required to confidently communicate product value and purchase items from customers. The Estate Specialist will report to both the Buy Manager and Office Manager. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

Travel to sponsored buying events, negotiate pricing, and purchase jewelry, diamonds, watches, sterling silver, gold, coins, currency, fine art, memorabilia, collectible firearms, autographs, and other valuable items.

Deliver excellent customer service to sponsors and customers while efficiently closing sales.

Accurately identify and describe items for online auction resale.

Follow company processes for buying policies, tracking item listings, and reaching personalized goals.

Perform miscellaneous office duties as needed.


Ability to travel 8-12 days per month on 3-4 consecutive day trips. (most travel is Mon-Thurs)

Certifications such as GG, AJP, Master Watchmaker are preferred and will increase starting salary.

Knowledge of fine jewelry, watches, antiques, coins, fine art, photography, firearms, or other collectible items.

Must be confident, positive, and poised.

Ability to reason intelligently and communicate clearly.

Keen attention to detail.

Comfortable working in a laid-back, fast-paced environment.

Honesty and integrity are a must.

Experience buying/appraising: 3 years (Preferred)

The total number of buy events attended, buying score, and closing ratio.

Quality and quantity of auction listings.

Base salary is determined by experience. Bonuses are determined by performance.

Compensation: $40,000.00 to $70,000.00 /year
